I am writing this on behalf of my daughter, who is 10 years old. She has had many such toys over the years, but she has never bonded with any toy like she has with this one. She is thoroughly in love with her playpus. I don't know that other children will feel the same, but I have to say this is a great toy!

Amazingly wonderful plush toy! I bought it for my boyfriend as he loves platypi and he absolutely adores it. It's a decent size, very soft, and looks so much like the real animal. We are both very happy with this platypus.

I bought this for my girlfriend in December of 2007 and she still sleeps with it next to her. it is very soft and durable. great for children and people who love a good Platypus.

I'm 18 years old and got this platypus because I fell in love with the creatures following a biology lecture. He's absolutely adorable--to the reviewer who said 18 in is on the small side, yes, it is--he is a sort of small chap--but he's fuzzy and cute. With some bean filling mixed in with the stuffing, he's got a slight heft to him. Also--after finding this out the hard way following a soda spill--he washes excellently in a regular washer/dryer cycle with the rest of one's laundry. He comes out looking a bit rumpled, but he's quite durable. :)

I purchased this to use in VBS - this year's theme is placed in Australia.
This toy appears to be well made and the price was the best I could find on line.
