I'm still a kid at heart and love stuffed animals and couldn't resist this. Exceeded my expectations. This is very high quality and is super soft. If someone just handed it to you I'm sure you'd want to hug it. The fur sheds a little at first but it isn't a big deal. I suggest cutting the paws away from the string holding them to the stomach to make it more hug-able for your kid or self. Paid about $[...] for mine (with free shipping) and it was worth every penny. Would be an excellent gift for anyone young or old that enjoys stuffed animals. 5-stars.

Got this for a friend and she loved it- she even sleeps with it every night. It's pretty big and hard to not cuddle with!

We've had the Sea Otter for over 2 years now. He (named Oscar) is still in great shape. He's very soft and hug-able, and after about 8 washes he shows no sign of wear. My son sleeps with him every night. He's the best of our stuffed animals, and while the price was a bit higher, he is well worth the money. I am so impressed that I will specifically buy another animal from this collection for my younger son.
We actually bought this at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, as it is the same type as you see there.
