I have used the Playful Penguin Race in my Physics classroom for at least 10 years! My students love using the Penguin Race in a lab to determine the Potential and Kinetic Energy as well as work of the penguins. For me at has been a great educational tool and it really helps my students grasp the concepts!

My girls loved it when we got this toy. They played all w/it all night and thanks to the other reviewers we did disconnect the squeaking very quickly!
It's kind of nice that it's a simple old fashioned toy. All of their buddies that come over to play get caught up in the Penguin Race for at least 10 mins!
We liked it and for the price you can't beat it!

Our 2 yr old grandchild likes Baby Einstein and was delighted to receive this toy shown in some Baby E's videos. Good for a two year old but light on interest for older ones.

This toy makes the most annoying chirping/squeaking penguin sound when turned on. You can't turn the sound off. So it makes the annoyance factor of this toy very high.
That aside, this toy consists of three little plastic penguins 'climb' a staircase, then slide down the slide and end up at the stairs again to repeat the process... over and over and over and over again. There are only so many times you can watch this before it gets old. Even kids get bored eventually. Mine has more fun just playing with the penguins separately. I am amazed none have gotten lost yet as they are only 2 inches tall if that.
This toy doesn't have much going for it in my book. It isn't educational and it doesn't inspire much creative play, plus the annoying sounds it makes are enough to make one go batty. There isn't much you can do with it. The penguins are cute I guess, but I think you could find a better toy.

We purchased this toy for my daughter (3yrs old) who absolutely loves penguins. She has wanted to play with it continuously. The only issue the rest of the family has with this toy is it is loud and a bit annoying after a while. She loves the motion of the penguins. An off button for the sound would have been great.
