...they even got the blow hole on the correct side! There are many indentations where scratch marks or natural creases should be - it's not just a painted piece of plastic. Schleich did it again, this is their 4th whale that I've purchased that is incredibly realistic and anatomically accurate (unlike Safari Ltd stuff)... I highly recommend this. My 2- and 4-year-olds know their whales apart already! :)

There is nothing else in the world that looks like a sperm whale, expect for another sperm whale. Schleich has really outdone themselves with this figure. They obvioulsy put a lot of research and effort into it. The realism is nothing short of amazing and the texture and paint scheme is spot on to the real thing. The whale's pose perfectly captures a sense of both power and movement. If you put it on your mantle your guests will think its an expensive wildlife sculpture. If you give it to your kids they will spend hours "swimming" this king of the sea around the floor or yard and and making it ram pirate ships and such. Five stars all the way around.
