I originally bought this from the GiantMicrobe website about a year ago for my youngest brother. In that time, he's learned how to nag me incessantly for more of them - including mad cow disease. Educational and fun, they made good gifts for friends my own age, especially those going into the medical field. I'm planning to buy a few more this year - including, yes, mad cow disease for my little brother. What can I say? Nagging works!

Great intro to microbiology/personal care for kids by AJ (San Diego, CA) 5 Stars

This was my child's first giant microbe and the one that hooked him onto all of their products. He first saw this guy in a display at the science center during a class field trip and convinced me to take him back that weekend to see it for myself. These are great products. Rhinovirus in particular is cute, soft, cuddly, and pretty durable. I would recommend this one as also being good for the younger scientists (over age 3 per product recommendations) as the subject is not as serious as some of the others (black death, ebola) and this one is more durable than some of the others. Information tag is attractive and incredibly educational, do not lose it. Highly recommended.
