EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description 13" scale figure based on a character appearing in this summer's featue film. | Amazon.com Product Description .caption { font-family: Verdana, Helvetica neue, Arial, serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; } ul.indent { list-style: inside disc; text-indent: -15px; } The Hasbro Transformers Ultimate Bumblebee Figure is the premium movie-based Transformers toy on the market. Standing more than 14 inches tall, this action figure is more than deserving of the title "Ultimate." With his sleek design, his battle and conversation sounds, and his advanced animatronics system, Ultimate Bumblebee is one of the most fully featured action figures you'll ever find. The Bumblebee fully featured action figure delivers animatronics and sounds. View larger. View Side. Bumblebee's car form is as detailed and well built as any model car. View larger. View Side. Two Awesome Modes Recommended for ages five and up, Ultimate Bumblebee is perfect for toy collectors and kids alike. Initially, Ultimate Bumblebee appears as a sleek 2008 Camaro. With its vivid yellow finish and racing stripes, Ultimate Bumblebee's car form is as detailed and well built as any model car and would be a perfect addition to a cabinet or dresser top. The car is able to roll freely on carpet and hard surfaces alike. However, like all Transformers, there is more to Ultimate Bumblebee's Camaro form than meets the eye. When it is time for him to come out of disguise and confront his enemies, he can transform into a massive, powerful robot. Equipped with a plasma cannon, he is more than prepared to defend your local Autobot from Decepticon attacks. With a few minor adjustments, kids can transform Ultimate Bumblebee seamlessly between his robot and his vehicle mode. His robot mode stands an impressive 14 inches, and is fully articulated, meaning that kids can adjust him into any pose. He is also incredibly detailed -- likely one of the most attractive action figures your aspiring heros will ever get their hands on. Advanced Animatronics and Sounds Ultimate Bumblebee features an advanced animatronic design, which means he can move and animate himself when in robot mode. With the touch of a button, he'll burst into motion. His head moves expressively from side to side, and his arms and wings both move up and down. He can even aim his plasma cannon and fire off his missile. Perhaps most impressively, he has full sound detection capabilities. He will respond to noises by turning and making sounds of his own. In addition to his animatronics and motion, Ultimate Bumblebee can also make a variety of exciting sounds. This ever-vigilant Autobot has 17 different heroic conversation phrases, such as "Let's roll out!" and "Take that, Decepticon!" He also makes battle sounds -- kids will hear the firing of his plasma cannon and the whirring, crushing sound of his movements. He'll even boogie as he plays Devo's popular song, "Whip It." About Transformers The Transformers began as a Hasbro toy line back in 1983, featuring toy vehicles that could transform into robots. The toys soon inspired an entire universe of fictional story lines, pitting the two factions of Transformers -- the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons -- against one another. A live-action movie based on the Transformers was released in 2007 and has continued the toy line's extreme popularity. With toys such as the Ultimate Bumblebee Figure, kids can bring home the struggle between the Autobots and Decepticons. |

| Don't buy this transformer for a child. by ccr 1 Stars October 18, 2009 I bought this transformer for my husbands 53rd birthday. He had a 2010 Chevy Camaro with the transformer package on order and I thought it would be a a great gift. He is an engineer, and it took him more that two hours to transform the toy from Bumblebee transformer to Bumblebee Camaro. It was very difficult to transform. He said he would not transform it back to the transformer due to the length of time involved to transform it. I would not recommed this toy for a child. It is more of a conversation piece to sit on a shelf and admire.
| | WAY too difficult for kids - even for some adults! by R. Montague (Jackson, MS) 2 Stars April 27, 2009 This was the highlight of "Santa's" shipment. My son almost cried with excitement when he saw this. It is a VERY impressive looking toy, but it is so hard to transform, that Bumblebee has sat on a shelf as a display since December. The only crying my son was doing after he opened it was out of frustration. Out of curiosity, my husband put it together as "fast" as he could - 30 minutes. Seriously. I don't know who designed this for kids. I don't recommend this unless you are going to use it as a display like we did. It is very well made and neat looking though...
| | Ultimate bumblebee by Mom to 4 kids 5 Stars January 31, 2009 This toy is awesome but is not for a child to transform. Once you know the proper sequence on how to transform from a Camaro to Robot and vice versa it is very simple. My son who is 6 loves this toy but is unable to transform it properly by himself.
| | Don't waste your money by Amy D. Miner-Fletcher (Boston) 1 Stars January 24, 2009 Don't waste your money on this. We purchased this toy for our son for Christmas. It is impossible for even my husband to transform it perfectly and therefore it does not work properly. It takes 20-25 minutes to transform and then it continually pops out if you play with it. We paid [...] so don't spend an additional [...] at the now generally advertised price of [...]. It's definitely not worth it.
| | Not what I thought it was by H. OBrien (Long Island, NY) 1 Stars January 09, 2009 I thought I was purchasing a remote controlled Transformer. My cousins little boy had one like that. This is very hard to transform and my son, who is six, is unable and not patient enough to do it. I had to visit a nephew in his late 20's who used to play with transformers and have him transform it into a car. I have strongly discouraged my son from trying to transform it again. It is rated for ages 5+ and over. I was ready to bury it in the garbage can and I was yelling at Santa Christmas morning. Very expensive toy to not be able to use.
