With no set right answer, this puzzle has nearly infinite options in construction. You can completely disassemble and reassemble the cube or simply manipulate it with your hands - you completely control the outcome of the multi-dimensional form. My husband is a magnet fanatic and he has become quite addicted to making different shapes with these balls. They allow you to be quite creative with your building. The only downside is that we have lost of few - it's easy to do since they are so small. Plus, he read that they are quite dangerous if someone swallows them because they can attract across linings of organs - so be careful around animals or small children. Otherwise, they have provided hours of entertainment for my husband and kids (ages 9 and 11).

I bought a set of these for my son. Now I'm addicted, My 9 year old son's addicted, and my 7 year old daughter is also addicted. These are great for getting the brain cells some exercise. I love the feel of them, especially in the cube shape or the hexagonal rod shape. The polarity takes some practice to master, but when you do you can make some wild shapes, then collapse them na d start all over. Super Toy!

This thing is so frustrating! Just when you think you can make the cube, all the magnets go hay-wire and go in every direction! We watched the video demonstration and there is no way it's that easy. You will be there for hours, trying to make the little rows of magnets line up. This is something you may want to take along on a long boring car ride or airplane.
We gave it 4 stars because it is educational, a real IQ tester. Obviously, failing that miserably... We could never make the cube, but we did design some other things.

I bought this toy for my friends who have a 4 year old son. The Dad and the son were both hooked immediately and had to make a deal on who gets the toy when. It was quite amusing. The magnets are a lot of fun to play with.
