| Jace vs Chandra is good, but try Jace and Chandra! by h4mx0r (Arcadia, CA USA) 5 Stars December 20, 2008 Ok, the two decks are really nice mono-color decks themselves. That's a given. The cards included are darn good too. Incinerate, Gush, Fireblast... These are cards that will be really nice to have for any collection that still lacks them. Anyhow, try combining the two decks. What you get is the control of Jace, but the damage dealing burn of Chandra. If your opponent tries to play something, deny him that with bounces and counters. When the advantage is on your side, start throwing out damage.
The new card artwork is also really cool, particularly the new Counterspell artwork. It truly gives off the feeling of "DENIED." Definitely a set of cards, even if you already got them. (The new art is worth it :D)
| | Preaty fun and Impressive decks by J. Palacios 4 Stars December 17, 2008 Im not a really an avid magic player...in fact before playing these decks, I havn't played magic in like..7 years. I wasn't planning on getting back into the game, but these decks are changing my mind. I went to a store with my bro and brough them. They are preaty good I would think on Magic terms, Although the Addition of Plainswalkers really changes how the game is played, since they are very powerful cards and are a tad messed up on the fact that they don't need a huge amount of mana. I Hope that these kind's of cards don't mess up the current formula for the magic world, since now when I play the game, I take them out of the decks entirely. I like the old way better
As for the Decks themselves, they are very good, and the combinations of cards they use are great. Although... I think both decks could use some Slight tweaking, the Jace deck needs some Target spells in exchange for its over abundance of some preaty useless counter spells. It has way too many counter spells, and since Chandera deck has preaty low costs for her spells and can usually use them in the first 3 turns, Jace's counter spells can be quite useless, and you will have a lil pile of counter spells by the end of the game.
I would only add like 2 or 3 Wall-defender cards to Chanderas deck, and maybe a counter spell or 2 if they are fighting someone other then the Jace deck.
All and all, these decks ARE even, and can accumulate to some interesting games, since they are quite the oppposites.
If you are a person who's always been kind of interested in Magic: The Gathering, but never seriously got into it, I would reccomend that you go find a friend and get these decks! They are a great way to start.
If your hardcore person, you will probably want the Chandra card, and some of the cool cards that come in the decks, Since i can see them being usefull in other decks.
