EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Assess the situation and get ready to strike. N-Strike! against your opponents! The Nerf Raider CS-35 NVP Blaster features a pump-action handle to give you total control of firing speed. The drum magazine holds 35 Clip System darts, giving you massive ammo capacity. A clear window lets you see how much ammo you have left. Two blasting modes give you defensive flexibility. Use the slam-fire mode for multiple shots or the slide mode for single shots. This is the pinnacle of blaster performance. | Amazon.com Review With the largest ammo capacity of any Nerf gun, the Nerf N-Strike Raider CS-35 will make short work of your foam-shooting foes. The blaster can carry up to 35 darts in its drum magazine, and uses a pump-action system to fire them rapidly. Featuring a tactical rail that is compatible with most N-strike accessories, and an adjustable stock, the Raider CS-35 delivers the pinnacle of blaster performance. N-Strike Raider CS-35 Blaster Ages: 6 and up What We Think Fun factor: Durability: Ease of assembly: Educational factor: Novelty factor: The Good: Enormous dart capacity, and 2 modes of rapid fire. The Challenging: Can be time-consuming to reload. In a Nutshell: A truly formidable blaster with a huge ammo capacity. The N-Strike Raider CS-35 is sure to make short work of your Nerf-blaster foes.View larger. Maximum Firepower and Versatility The CS-35 features a durable plastic frame, intended for intense play. It is based a classic Tommy gun design, complete with a drum magazine. This magazine can be used as an accessory with any other compatible N-Strike blasters. The CS-35 comes with an adjustable stock, which you adjust to fit the length of your arm. It also has a tactical rail, which you can equip with a variety of N-Strike accessories. With a 35-dart capacity, the CS-35 has a truly massive payload of foam. Because of this, you might expect it to be a bit cumbersome, but it is actually surprisingly mobile. The blaster is lightweight enough to sprint with, and you'll be able to blind-fire around a corner with ease. You also shouldn't have to worry about running out of darts. The CS-35 comes with 100 darts, including 65 clip-system darts. The darts are gentle and soft, so younger kids will be able to get in on the action. There is one downside to the huge dart capacity: each dart has to be reloaded individually, so preparing the blaster for play can take several minutes. Still, the fun you will have is well worth these moments of tedium. Blast Your Enemies Away The CS-35 fires reliably in battle, and is free of the jamming that often plagues Nerf guns. It uses a pneumatic pump to propel the darts, allowing you to be in control of the rate of fire. The pump allows for two blasting modes -- multiple darts at a time, or single shots. The multiple-dart mode is particularly fearsome, since it will empty all 35 darts in a matter of seconds. What's in the Box Nerf N-Strike Raider CS-35 blaster, drum magazine, 35 normal darts, and 65 clip-system darts. The blaster carries up to 35 darts in the drum magazine and uses a pump-action system for rapid fire. The tactical rail is compatible with most N-strike accessories and the adjustable stock delivers a comfortable fit for kids six and up. View larger. |

| Nerf-N-Strike Raider Rapid Fire CS-35 by S. Seward 4 Stars November 18, 2009 My sons 10 and 4 1/2 love this nerf gun. Although it is to big for my younger son, he still tries to play with it.
It does fire fast and the clip that holds 35 darts is pretty cool. We thought it would have been a good idea to have the round cover unsnap so you could load them faster, but as it stands, you have to load them one at a time through the end of it. It's OK though, not a big deal. It actually works and doesn't jam up at all. We got the gun from Toys R Us and it had a bonus of 100 extra darts that came with it which made it an exceptional deal because buying the extra darts can get a little expensive. Would buy this item again.
| | One of the coolest Nerf guns. by Wily (USA) 5 Stars November 09, 2009 If you're buying a Nerf gun, the "Raider" is the one to have. Our house has them all - most seem to have cheesy features that do little to enhance the "funability" - detachable stocks, red "laser" sites...those are neat for box art, but for tearing around the yard? You want fire power. The Raider fires very fast, doesn't jam and seems to have as much power as the Nerf Lawyers allow.
The drum mechanism is surprisingly reliable - at least for now. We've just taken ownership, so there's a lot of wear-and-tear to experience! We'll see. However, we decided to review early because there were some reviews that describe a jamming or difficulty with the loading mechanism. Straight out of the box, ours wouldn't load either...until we clicked in the clip. Then? Fine. So maybe the other reviewers hadn't attached their drum or clip yet?
Anyway, I'd say that if you were buying Nerf guns for your army, there are two you really should have - the Raider and the little single-shot "pistols." The rest are - in my opinion - thunk up by brand-extension wonks who just want to sell toys. Which is fine...but if your Nerfite really wants to PLAY, forget the features and just go with reliable firing.
The "vulcan" is, in my opinion, worthless btw - it fires slower than a 3 year old throwing ping pong balls and requires batteries. Plus, it's ungainly and...well...get a Raider.
| | A thirteen year old's review by Mike Roberts 5 Stars October 28, 2009 It was the day after my birthday, and i decided to squander a bit of money on a present to myself. I have had great luck with the nerf maverick, and i decided to buy a new gun, one of the cool new ones. I was going to buy the vulcan, but overly pessimistic customer reviews put me off and i bought this instead.
let me tell you now, this is THE BEST NERF GUN YET. Below are listed my pros and cons, but the pros far outweigh the cons.
PROS:
Dart capacity(you can keep shooting for a really long time before reloading)
Weight
Dual fire modes
really fast "auto" mode
entirely person-powered
easy to fix jams
long range(sometimes)
CONS:
Long reload time
wide dispersal(can be good or bad, but takes forever to find all the darts you thought you shot in a straight line)
Large drum takes up space
YOU SHOULD BUY IT!!!
| | Awesome gun by F. Ingram (Front Royal,VA) 5 Stars October 26, 2009 This is an awesome gun and I got it for 35 dollars with 100 bullets. basically the gun was free. You will never lose a nerf battle with this gun. We play three on three and six shots takes you out. i don't run out of bullets during the battle when I fill this gun up. You should have a nerf pistol as a backup if you run out because the guns one drawback is it takes a long time to reload. It doesn'y seem to have a big problem with jamming like some of the rifles have.
| | BEST NERF GUN EVER!!! 5 Stars October 17, 2009 This is the best nerf gun ever! It's like the vulcan but much much better 1. it's a lot less heavier which means you can actually carry it into battle(without difficulty). 2. it hardly ever jams. 3. it has a lot more dart capacity. Also you can put the magazine into other guns like the recon and longshot and it seems like the magazine improves the guns range! If you are an extreme nerfer you need this gun!!!!!!!!
