Featuring real infrared night vision technology, these binoculars allow you to see up to 50 feet in total darkness. Kids eight years and older will love switching the binoculars to spy mode for covert operations, or using the long-range mode for peripheral surveillance. With a high contrast dual-eye LCD display and an adjustable focus, the Eyeclops binoculars provide a clear window to a never-before-seen world. Night Vision 2.0 Infrared Stealth Binoculars Ages: 8+ Requires: 5 "AA" batteries (not included) Adult assistance with battery installation What We Think Fun factor: Durability: Educational factor: Novelty factor: The Good: Binoculars with night vision let you view objects in the dark up to 50 feet away. The Challenging: Small field of vision makes it dangerous to walk or run while using binoculars. In a Nutshell: Lightweight design and easy-to-use features make advanced infrared technology accessible to kids. With a 50-foot range, these night-vision goggles allow you to see what happens in the dark. View larger. Two modes of vision allow you to choose stealth or distance, depending on the situation. View larger. Binoculars with Real Infrared Technology Step into the backyard after dark with these infrared binoculars and you'll see a nighttime world, brilliantly illuminated. The real working infrared technology will surprise kids with its ability to bring a perfectly dark environment into clear, bright focus. With a range of up to 50 feet, the high contrast dual-eye LCD display provides an amazingly clear picture of what goes on in the dark. Designed for covert operations, the binoculars feature action detailing and black coloration that lets kids operate under the radar. The dual display provides clear images that can be seen with both eyes, and the form-fitting eyepiece with eye-width adjustment ensures a comfortable fit. A black neck strap makes sure that the binoculars won't fall or get lost in the middle of the night. Long Range Mode vs. Stealth Mode The Eyeclops features four different modes for different types of operations. Stealth Mode makes you utterly invisible by removing the light that is emitted by the binoculars. Long-range mode helps you focus on people or objects that are as far as 50 feet away. Both Spy mode and Military mode alter your field of vision to simulate the effect of using real infrared binoculars. Lovers of the outdoors will be delighted to find that the infrared light illuminates tiny insects and the reflective surfaces of animals' eyes. While the binoculars make it a cinch to see in the dark, the relatively small field of vision makes it dangerous to run while looking through them. Adult supervision is recommended for safe play, and for the installation of the Eyeclops' five "AA" batteries (not included). What's in the Box Eyeclops night vision binoculars with neck strap, and instruction manual. The comfortable neckband allows you to see in the dark with your hands free -- perfect for spying! |

| | Great Night Vision Toy! by J. Gibbons (Saint Louis, MO) 5 Stars November 23, 2009 I was pleasantly surprised by this toy. While I wouldn't want to have to rely on these on any real battlefield, these work great for any imaginary scenario. These goggles are much cooler than any toy that I had as a kid, and every kid should have one to play with. While the resolution is poor, the distance is actually quite good. I own an infrared flashlight, but the built-in lighting has a viewable distance of at least 100 feet and is better than my flashlight.
Impressive for under $100.
Every kid should have these!
Pros:
1) Works surprisingly well
2) Solid plastic construction
3) Adjustable focus
Cons:
1) Poor resolution, but still great for the price
2) Bulky
3) No depth perception
| | Great improvement over Eyeclops 1 by JJohnTX (Houston, TX USA) 5 Stars November 13, 2009 I bought the original Eyeclops Night Vision goggles. They are enjoyable just for the technology. If you have these or read the reviews of the original product you will see the pros and cons of the Eyeclops 1.
After reading the reviews of the Eyeclops V2 and for the price I paid for them I couldn't resist the temptation to buy them. I'm glad I did.
The V2 uses the same technology as the original, but has a large view screen that can be seen with both eyes. Even though there is still no depth perception due to the 2-dimensional screen you have a larger field of vision. This eliminates the dizzying disorientation experienced with the original. You still have to be careful moving around, though, because of the depth perception issue.
The V2 has all the same features of the original except this unit is hand-held like binoculars instead of the head gear that came with the original. It is also a lot easier to get out of the box unlike the original. The rubber seal around the eyes is not as form-fitting as the unit with head gear. This allows light emitted from the view screen to leak around the edges which could give you away in the dark to anyone who might be looking your way. I'm a 6' tall male and it doesn't seal all of the light from around my face.
Overall, this is a good, fun product to own. Just watch for price deals on Amazon.com for the best bargain.
| | Go Commando by Sillyvieve (Boston, MA USA) 5 Stars October 26, 2009 This is actually a pretty great toy and perfect for outdoor nighttime adventures. I got this for my nephew and he absolutely loves them. I used the older version of the JAKKS Night Vision Goggles and those worked really well so when I saw these come out I thought hey why not. The fact that these are binoculars and not monocular make it so much easier for him to use and the neck strap allows him to just let them hang when he is not using them. This is much safer then having the googles strapped to your head. The quality is really good too. I was really impressed with this product and recommend it to any parent.
| | My son thinks he is in the military! by Your Mama (Rochester, NY) 5 Stars October 26, 2009 I don't think war is funny but I do think my son is adorable. Every time he puts these on at night in our backyard, he thinks he is protecting our country....and our dog from wild coyotes. I used them once and honestly was shocked by the fact that this is a toy and so inexpensive given the quality.
