The Best Saturn Game!! by J. R. Casey 5 Stars
October 06, 2009
This is without a doubt the best game on Sega Saturn!! This is what childhood is about; innoscence. Mine was taken from me when I had Cancer at age 4 and when my dad was 20 years in the Air Force!

Anyone who says that video games are just games, have to be out of their minds. Welcome to Nightopia, the land where your dreams are a reality. Whenever I play NiGHTS, I'm reminded why I grew up loving video games, because the world I was taken into seemed so real, it reflects the world I've always wanted to live in. This review will be in a dreamer's perspective. Game-play: The object of each stage is simple, collect 20 blue chips, defeat the Ideya Captures, and return to the Ideya Palace. There are four parts of each stage, and destroying all four Ideya Captures ends the stage and sends you to the boss room. Each part of the stage is played like a lap around the course, each is different than the other, and has the chips and Ideya Captures in different areas. NiGHTS can attack enemies by using the drill attack, or by doing a paraloop around them. You start the stage as one of the dreamers (Elliot or Claris) and walk your way to NiGHTS to officially start the stage. NiGHTS is entirely controlled in the air, he flies through each part of the stage, doing all kinds of loops and acrobatic techniques all the way. Anyway, it's a little hard at first, but the more you play, the better you get at it, NiGHTS moves so fluid in the air, he/she never feels stiff or robotic. *10/10* Graphics: One of the few 3-D games in the era that felt alive. Flying in dreams is a fantastic idea, and couldn't be pulled off any better. NiGHTS, Claris and Elliot, are fully 3-D along with the bosses, Ideya Captures and environments. NiGHTS leaves sparkles wherever he/she flies, and when making a paraloop, fills his loop with sparkles and firework effects. The enemies, items and menus are 2-D but are never out of place and blend perfectly. The environments and scenery are great, very dream-like, and are very pretty as you circle around them. Also, you'll be given fantastic CG cut-scenes during the opening and endings, an excellent feat for back then. *10/10* Sound: Each track is excellent (though I didn't like the credits song "Dreams Dreams, but that's just me) and fits with each area of the game, "Gate of your Dreams" is one of the coolest tracks ever, it plays during the stage selection. Child-hood dreams and voices echo through the purple clouds, and a very high-pitched melody plays. All the stage tracks fit with the themes of the dreams perfectly. The cut-scenes have no voices to fit the dream perspective, which is good. And the more I play it, it seems that the stage music changes a bit, and even changes into a different song, I think it's part of that "A-Life" feature. Good thing the disc doubles as a soundtrack. *10/10* Story: The story is simple, but extremely effective, Elliot and Claris are having trouble in their daily lives, and it gives them nightmares as they go to sleep at night. But trouble brews not just in their lives, but in Nightopia too. The evil Wizeman plans on taking over Nightopia, and turning all dreams into nightmares. All but one of his minions are loyal, NiGHTS discovers Claris' and Elliot's power of courage and show up in their dreams to help conquer their fears and save Nightopia. The story is a great match, and can't be rivaled for a game such as this. *10/10* NiGHTS is an excellent "game" and needs to be in everyone's collection. Though a little rare, it's worth every penny, I advise buying the 3D Control Pad, it makes the entire experience all the more fun. The game has plenty of re-play value. It's all based on getting better scores, but you'll never get bored. Whenever I feel like not getting into a game that's heavy on game-play, I pull out NiGHTS, and have the time of my life. Final Review: *10/10* Sweet Dreams

NIghts Into Dreams This original game for saturn is very fun and colorful. My only complant is that some times the graphics and visuals are confusing and you cannot see very well. It is colorful, fun and has a great concept. The soundtrack is amazing, the bosses are fun, even though I have not completed all of the bosses. Anyway I do recommend buying this great saturn game for fans, family, and friends.

So fun, you might find yourself shelveing it for several months. 5 Stars

Yes, I know, the title is a paradox, but seriously guys, I found myself having so much fun with this game, I honestly thought I'd blow every circut in my brain if I played any longer, so I deliberately stopped playing for several months. Only now am I starting to venture back into it's world. This game... is even more addictive than Pac-Man. This is fact. I remember when we got the game. I bought it for like 60 dollars on ebay with the 3D controller and everything. We were very excited when we first got it, and we immedetely proceded to play till 10 PM and we were all like so addicted to it and we were having soooo much fun and... well, you get the point. Buy this game right now. I DEMAND YOU DO SO!!!
