EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description When used with specially designed games, the Nintendo GameCube Broadband Adapter can enable either online play (through an existing broadband connection such as DSL or cable), or play over a Local Area Network (LAN).Games must be programmed to use these features, and will indicate so on the game's packaging with a Broadband Adapter icon. The Nintendo GameCube Broadband Adapter does not allow you to "surf" the Internet, and is only used for a connection to play games online or over a LAN. |

| Not a Game >.> by Marco Piccirillo 5 Stars July 06, 2009 This is not a video game, I don't know why Amazon put it like this. But the product arrived faster then another item that was still being shipped from a week ago. Very good service, good packaging as well.
| | Outdated but Used to Stream by Robert S. Bukowski (603, NH) 5 Stars January 05, 2009 Not so much for playing but I stream gamecube games to my desktop computer and play them through an emulator unless my friends are over.
Sweet deal.
| | Overall by Lawrence Neubauer 5 Stars September 28, 2008 Hey, If you ever had a gamecube game such as Phantasy Star Online, or some other gamecube game with internet play, the Gamecube Broadband Adapter is the best way to go. After I got mine, just plugged it into the router and everything was working fine.
| | Does what it's suppposed to do... by Marshall Carter (Irmo, SC United States) 4 Stars April 26, 2008 As long as you buy the Gamecube Broadband Adapter knowing what you're getting, it's worth the price of admission. Basically though, aside from Mario Kart Double Dash in LAN mode and Phantasy Star Online (which is only playable now on private servers), you can't do very much with it. There is a program called Warpipe that allows you to play some other games online, but since that requires a PC outside of your Gamecube, that's not something most people will ever use it for. As it is, it does what it's supposed to do, and when it comes to hardware, you can't ask for much more than that.
| | Great idea! by Gun Man 5 Stars September 26, 2007 I originaly ordered the BBA to connect to PSO online on a private server, then i realised with a certain proxy i can play SSB:M online! GREAT PRODUCT! you can also hook your GC's up with friends with mario kart:Double Dash
