CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 2 reviews)
| D.N.A. - Genetic Disorder by Atomic Ritual (Queens, NY) 5 Stars March 08, 2009 D.N.A. is an addictive puzzle type game, which has a new-age type feel. It is very similar to other puzzle games such as Tetris and Bejewled. If you enjoy those games you will have a lot of fun with D.N.A. As in Bejewled, you receive audio encouragement in the form of various melifulous robotic-like voices whenever you do something well. The idea of the game is very simple--you try to match a chain of colored 'proteins' which link together forming a strand of 'D.N.A.'. There are three types or colors of these proteins. When paired up with another protein, they form a different color/type of D.N.A.. increasing your score.
There are three different modes to play--Action, Puzzle and Eternal. In Action mode you are 'assisting' a research biologist, Dr. Rose, in her laboratory experiments. In each experiment, there is a quota of the three types of D.N.A. that the player must make. You also have some twists such as viruses to contend with and other variants such as proteins that toggle their color/type, 'chain cells', 'bombs', etc...
Puzzle mode is where the player tries to solve various pre-arranged tasks, matching colors as in action mode. Eternal mode is where the player has no limits and is continuously matching proteins.
The game is great for kids, but is equally a fun diversion for all ages. If you do play this game be forewarned, once you start it is difficult to quit!
| | D.N.A. Most Excellent by S. Jewett (Council Bluffs, IA USA) 4 Stars December 29, 2007 D.N.A. is very addicting! You have to really think about what your doing; selection of colors, selection of metalic coins first over the regular dna. How close are the virus's to the dna? I found only a couple of things disapointing.
1. There was no speed round.
2. The flowers were duplicated in earlier levels (they did'nt change that much). No green, black, light blue, flowers, no flowers that self propagate or die.
3. There were not enough levels.
4. Green, Orange, Purple dna is standard but what about red, blue, yellow?
To the makers of D.N.A you've got to include roses, tulips, hostas, crocus's, ivy's, hyacinth's, pansie's, begonia's, and lilac's, and many other types of flowers. Perhaps each level you play you can obtain an Earlinmeyer flask, spiral tubes, colored liquids, fertalizers, spades, watering can's and other hardware.
Over all the program was excellent. This program is user friendly. Children from age 4 to 90 could play it.
