| It was a gift but so worth it. by Jade Stone (Georgia, USA) 4 Stars October 31, 2009 I originally bought this for my boyfriend since he told me he wanted it. I was shocked to hear my best gamer friend tell me it sucked after I bought it and was awaiting it's arrival. I cringed when I handed it to my significant other to play thinking he would hate it. Suprisingly he loves it. The camera can make me nauseated when I watch him play but other than that it is an underrated game. It was worth the money I spent.
| | Seriously by W. Brown (WA) 4 Stars October 28, 2009 Love the game cant play enough of it only thing ill say is i bought it brand new and took off the wrap and security seal and the bottom of the case just chipped off in the corner although it does nothing really it annoys me that it looks like crap now.
| | this game sucked by Curtis Hunter 2 Stars August 21, 2009 I love games that allow you to upgrade your guns and armor and other things but this games was the same bs run and shoot the same people over and over the enviorments sucked a big one the boss battles are boreging this game really pissed me off. I was hopeing for a good game but nooooooooooo I got too stupid my bad too human and please do not die oh my god the same things happens everytime and you can not skip it this game was bad period . I enjoyed mass effect alot more then this crap anyway buy at your own risk.
| | takes getting used to, but is very fun and keeps you coming back by Nethalar (New York City) 4 Stars July 20, 2009 The biggest hurdle to overcome is getting used to the lack of camera control. If you played the Conan game on the 360 though, it's not that much of a transition. The struggle to get comfortable with this game is well-worth it. It has a high learning curve to really get all the aspects of the game, but initially (in the first level Hall of Heroes) is easy, approachable and fun (until the first boss fight). It's biggest problem is lack of available information/ongoing instruction. This is a game that needs hints/instruction until you max out at 50th level. This information is available online and from co-opping however. The co-op community is great for the most part. I can't think of any action mechanic in any supposedly "next-gen" game more fun than the right-stick combat. My only objection is that only two classes (berzerker and champion) are actually good at it! As such, these are the most fun to play, in my opinion. The way guns are handled is not particularly interesting or fun, except if you use twin pistols. The Champion class is really best at using twin pistols, so again your choices for maximum fun are limited from a class point of view. Despite these flaws (and others) the game keeps me coming back, and I picked it up on day 2 after release! Get this game, when it gets hard, co-op and ask someone about strategies. Then you'll have ongoing enjoyment that's tough to compare to other games!
| | Nothing like how it was marketed by Kinetic Genetics (LA) 1 Stars July 10, 2009 This game was borring and not at all like it was marketed. When they first started talking about this game they said the combat would be something akin to God of War or Devil May Cry. Instead you just hold the right analog stick in whatever direction you want to attack. there's no satisfying sense of impact. Baldur was supposed to be a [...], but turns out he's more of a [...]. There's no real consequence to dying, so you don't end getting very attached to your character. This game may be just the type of level repeating, item collecting game some people love, but I wish they would have marketed it that way, so i would have known not to pick it up.
