| Clone of Clones by Zandaxar (USA) 2 Stars November 16, 2009 Basics: There are two types of tests(memory or general deduction) which each have three levels of difficulty that can be played for durations of 10, 20 or 30 questions.
Pros:
The difficult-level math, surface area count and some of the memory questions were a good challenge.
When you take the same test over, the questions are of the same form but have different specifics.
Cons:
Difficulty is increased by having you aim for perfection and for time-pressure completion after you pass the tests the first time.
The frequency of easy-level questions, even when on difficult level, is way too high.
No separate save files for other players nor can you clear your records after you are done to allow someone else to start fresh with the game.
The records page, recorded timed tests as passed before I had actually played them.
Comments: I would have much preferred it, if the challenge came from giving you harder questions rather than seeing how fast or perfect you can do many easy questions. To give an example of what I mean by easy questions, look at the cover of the game. There is a 3 by 3 grid with 2 red squares, 3 yellow circles and 3 blue pentagons in it. The answer is just 1 red square so each has three. Anytime you see this grid, regardless of what difficulty level you are playing, the answer is always the same.
| | love it by S. Wheeler (Copperas Cove, Texas) 5 Stars June 29, 2009 if you love I.Q. tests, training your brain and mental challenges these are the games for you
| | Best??? by Amy (USA) 1 Stars February 15, 2009 This game for Nintendeo DS is by far the WORST. Do not waste you money on this one. It will get you attention for about 30 seconds at most. There are far better ones for the DS system, so go right by this one!
| | Not worth your money by M. Russell (United States) 2 Stars October 01, 2008 Picked it up on a whim since I enjoy puzzles & brainteasers. However, certain things quickly became annoying:
-If you are incorrect, you are not told the right answer.
-Many questions are repeated identically, particularly those involving patterns. This quickly grows dull.
-The difficulty levels are inconsistant. Some "difficult" questions will be as simple as the "easy" level (if not the very same questions), others progress too quickly. Math questions rapidly become very difficult.
-Variety was slim. Questions become more difficult with levels, but the question types don't change. Patterns for example involve cards, the alphabet, and a concentric circle shape. That's it.
The memory tests were the most interesting, although they also became repetitive. Plus since the questions rarely varied ("What order were these in?) it was easy to predict what to memorize for the picture.
If you are looking for challenging brainteasers, you will probably read too much into a lot of puzzle. For example, the 3x3 grid on the box cover. The answer is the red square, simply because the other two shapes have three pieces. It's disappointingly that simple.
I found very little fun with this game. Not thought provoking or intriguing, I recommend it if you find yourself stuck in a airport or extremely bored. There are far better memory/brainteaser/IQ games available.
| | not what I thought by Mama L (Middletown, CT United States) 2 Stars September 14, 2008 This game is good for kids or for right before bed when your brain is shot because it is so easy. Only one person can use it, and it doesn't give any kind of score. Don't buy it if you seriously want to know anything about your real IQ, but it's ok to just have some mindless fun.
