EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Amazon.com A bit stale with cuss words and easy, mindless insults, South Park, Volume 12 offers "Roger Ebert Should Lay off the Fatty Foods" and "Clubhouses," two decent episodes that will please fans but not necessarily convert newbies. "Roger Ebert" tells the story of the local planetarium, about to go out of business, and its manager hypnotizing school children in order to save it. There are some funny moments here, mostly within the subplot of Cartman auditioning for the Cheesy Poofs commercial, but the much better half of this video is "Clubhouses." Stan and Kyle race against Cartman and Kenny to build clubhouses in order to play truth or dare with girls. In the meantime, Stan's parents are bickering and suddenly divorce, and Stan must cope with the change while pressured by Wendy and Bebe to finish the clubhouse. This is a fertile story, pitting young, experimental attraction against old, tired relationships inside a hilarious script that pokes fun at resentments common to long-married couples and parodies divorcés and their new lovers. A strong episode that could've been just as amusing without Bebe's dull references to Kyle's butt. --Karen Karleski |

| "I Love Cheesy Poofs,You Love Cheesy Poofs..........." by dude (USA) 5 Stars May 20, 2000 in most of the south park tapes, one of the episodes is good and the other one sucks,in this one both episodes were hilarious! in the first episode,Mr garrison's class gets hypnotized at the planetarium, and Cartmen is trying out for the Cheesy Poofs commercial, because he thinks planetariums are lame and they suck.in the second episode, the boys build clubhouses so they can get girls to play truth or dare with them in the clubhouses
| | Welcome to the plane-arium! by Porkbelly Funkyskunk (Chicago, Illinois) 4 Stars April 15, 2000 In the first episode, everyone takes multiple trips to the local planetarium, except Cartman, who is auditioning for a commercial. My favorite part was that of the haiku's. I liked Cartman's. Remember when Kenny died from the intensity of the star show? (Oh my god, we killed Kenny! We're bastards!) I also liked when Barbradey acted like Elvis.
| | Great acting 5 Stars January 28, 2000 Roger Ebert Should Lay Off the Fatty Foods has to do with 1. the local planetarium and 2. Kenny Loggins. Clubhouses has to do with clubhouses.
| | Pretty good, but.... by John McKay (Flint, MI USA) 4 Stars January 07, 2000 Pretty good but also a little stale... for something very different, check out the real film...warning you that it's less tame that this and it's a musical... but it's hilarious
