Product Description
This fascinating portrait of the rare southern right whale results from years of study by Roger S. Payne, who received a MacArthur Fellowship in November, 1984 in recognition of his work as a zoologist and conservationist. He and his family lived in Argentina by the whales' breeding and calving waters. They filmed from land, air, water and underwater, obtaining remarkable images of whale anatomy and behavior. Often close-up and in slow-motion the whales feed, snore, mate, and play. Accompanied by Dr. Payne's informative narration, The Right Whale provides an amazing glimpse of these beautiful, vanishing giants.
