EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description T-Touch Titanium Collection by Tissot. T33.7.888.92. Polished solid Titanium case and bracelet. Carbon weave black dial with black and white hands and markers. Luminous hands and markers. Rotating bezel. Pressing the center button activates the glass. Touching the corresponding label of the desired function will activate it. The glass will be deactivated after 30 seconds of inactivity. Chronograph Function - Chrono Function with split time capability. Barometer Function - The hands on the watch will superimpose to indicate the variance in the atmospheric pressure. The T-Touch measures these variations to indicate the meteorological trend. When the atmospheric pressure rises, the skies clear. The hands will move toward the right. When the atmospheric pressure decreases, it becomes cloudy. The hands will move toward the left. The digital display will give the absolute pressure in hectoPascal. Altimeter Function - When the altimeter function is activated, the watch is turned into a barometric altimeter and displays the altitude in relation to average sea level. The T-Touch Multi-function can be set to display the altitude in meters or feet. Thermometer Function - The T-Touch is able to display the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit while in the thermometer mode. For the most accurate temperature measurements, the watch should be removed from the wrist for at least 15 minutes so that body temperature does not effect the reading. Compass Function - While in the compass mode, the T-Touch with the minute hand indicates the geographical North Pole taking into consideration the magnetic deviation. The T-Touch Multi-function will indicate the degree of magnetic deviation between the geographic and magnetic North Pole on the digital display. Alarm Function - 24 hour alarm function with acoustic alarm. Precise Swiss Quartz movement. Scratch resistant Sapphire crystal. Fold over clasp. Water resistant to 30m. Case measures 42mm diameter by 13mm thick. | Amazon.com Product Description The Tissot Men's T-Touch Titanium Watch has an elegance that belies its exceptional, functional features. The polished, solid, Titanium case and bracelet complement the bold, black dial which features a dotted pattern. The watch's digital Touch-screen technology gives easy access to eight separate functions: altimeter, chrono, compass, alarm, thermometer, barometer (meteo), and date and time. This watch features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 99 feet. CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 3.5 based on 26 reviews)
| If you want a good watch for 2 years.... by Dogswood (Gulf Islands, British Columbia) 1 Stars October 14, 2009 I bought this watch 2.5 years ago on Amazon for around $500. Watch looks great and worked very well for the first 2.5 years. Died last month. Took it in for a battery change. First surprise - not a simple $10-20 job. Estimates to change battery ranged from $40-$150!!. Some watch places refused to do it. Luckily, I took it to a reputable place who refused to charge me anything when they discovered that the watch would not run on a new battery.
I happened to be in a city with a Tissot service center (found out watch is made by Swatch). They told me that water got inside and that it would need both a movement and crystal replacement at a cost of $350. I thought the watch was waterproof to 100ft so I had swum and taken showers with it. They said it was only water resistant to 100ft. Apparently this means that you might be able to wash your hands with it on. I might note that this is not pointed out in any of the literature you get with the watch.
So, if you can afford a new watch every couple of years and don`t mind taking the watch off when you get near water, this watch is for you. Otherwise, look for either watches marked water resistant to 300ft (100 metres) or waterproof.
| | Nice Watch! by Jayaprakash Mallisetty (Edison, NJ) 4 Stars September 10, 2009 I had been longing to buy this watch for a long time because of its T-Touch features but was not convinced with the earlier Titanium bracelet models. I saw this polished Titanium and liked it instantly and my wife liked it too and we just ordered it! When it arrived, it arrived in a nice Tissot case with all literature except for the manufacturer warranty card. Amazon provides a 2 year warranty on this and they assured this is a Genuine Tissot!
The features are amazing! Looks real good on my wrist and did not even need the size of the Bracelet adjusted.
The only thing which I did not realize was that though this a Quartz, it runs a battery. I was under the impression that this needed no battery. My bad for not checking. Never the less, this is one great time piece :) and I love it!
| | For fashion only, do not use in real world by Fly More (California) 1 Stars September 09, 2009 The T-Touch is nice looking and fun to play with, but as several other reviewers have found, even light wear and tear will break it in just a year or two. It is not at all waterproof or even water resistant, for example. A Tissot service representative told me that even normal hand washing can subject the watch to too much water pressure and that many watches are returned with water damage. The touch screen on my watch failed for unknown reasons (not water damage) and the price to fix it was about 50% of the price of a new watch! Once the touch screen breaks you cannot set the time, so the watch becomes useless.
The altimeter and compass functions (when working) are interesting. The temperature (of your arm) is not too useful, nor is the barometric pressure even though it reports pressure trends. The digital display and hands must show the same time unfortunately. (There is a work around for this problem, but it leaves the hands pointing in strange directions during other functions.) It's hard to read the time via analog hands in the dark and impossible to see the digital display in the dark.
Overall the main issue is the extremely poor reliability. One would think that watches at this price level would work for a long time, but the T-Touch doesn't. Bottom line: With so many watches to choose from, you can surely find one cheaper or better (or both) than the unreliable T-Touch.
| | Stay away from magnetic devised and don't use traveling!!! by RWm (Boston, MA) 1 Stars August 26, 2009 I brought my T-Touch 3 years ago. The exact same one in the picture. Just a WARNING!! The Compass, barometer and altitude functions rely on a magnetic instrument that can easily become demagnetised. I had to send my watch in 3 times and didn't realize this until I got a note back from repair asking me to keep it away from magnetic devises like airport security.
So - if you like your T-Touch then I suggest not taking it traveling!!
Otherwise if you need a watch with those functions you may try Casio Pathfinder or others. My Casios with the same functions have worked flawlessly for many years.
| | Think twice befeore purchase a Tissot T- touch by Eduardo (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil) 2 Stars April 09, 2009 Believe me, I purchased 2, that is it, two T-Touch. The first one worked fine for 3 months after that, it started with problems with the hands and sundly it stopped working. I sent it to Tissot shop for repairing. 2 months later, same problem. Again let's go to Tissot shop to have it repaired. After 2 monthsIt's not necessary to tell what happened.
Well, new Tissot T-Touch was purchased. After 3 months, compass and Chrono are not working. I think it will be wasting of time and patience to send it to the Repair shop to fix it. The best I can do is to by a Citizen watch. Tissot owe me more than 10 stars. If you have Tissot Co'shares, I recomend you to buy Tissot T Touch. Otherwise, keep distance from that watch.
