Dr Lars Abrahmsén appointed Chief Scientific Officer of Affibody
January 27, 2004Affibody today announced the strengthening of the management team by the appointment of Dr Lars Abrahmsén as Chief Scientific Officer. Lars Abrahmsén succeeds Stefan St'åhl, one of Affibody's founders. Professor St'åhl wished to return to academia, and has returned to his academic professorship, but remains as scientific advisor to the Company.
Dr Lars Abrahmsén is being recognized for his work on protein pharmaceuticals and in drug development. In addition, he conducted his postdoctoral work in the field of protein engineering. Most recently, Lars Abrahmsén was senior project team leader at Biovitrum.
Commenting on his appointment, Lars Abrahmsén says:
"Affibody's technologies hold very interesting opportunities in the fields of biotherapeutics as well as general protein research technologies, such as solutions facilitating proteomics and separation of biomolecules. I look forward to the exciting challenge of taking Affibody's strategic research and development efforts further."
