LRI Innovative Science Award - Rewarding Good IdeasJanuary 19, 2004The deadline for applications for the LRI Innovative Science award is March 1, 2004. The European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) in conjunction with the Federation of European Toxicologists and the European Societies of Toxicology (Eurotox) is offering a EUR100,000 award to support promising new research in the field of toxicology. The award is intended for a Europe-based scientist with less than ten years post doctoral experience to promote and develop a creative concept for interdisciplinary research. The proposed research should be relevant to the Long-range Research Initiative (LRI), a chemical industry-funded research programme that aims to provide science-based information to help protect human health and the environment. Long list of applicants will be notified by April 1 2004 and a more detailed application will be requested for submission by May 3, 2004. A short list of applicants will be made by May 21 and the finalists will be asked to present to a selection committee in Brussels on June 17.
