Call For Proposals - Subject Areas for Ring-Fenced Doctoral Awards in the Arts and HumanitiesJuly 20, 2003The Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB) invites members of the community to make a case for their subject area as one that would benefit from ring-fenced, doctoral awards. Proposals may be submitted by leading academics, Subject Associations or Professional Associations. We would expect HEIs, Subject Associations, Professional Associations, Learned Societies and other relevant organisations to be involved in the development of the case and to support the proposal. If you wish to put your area forward for consideration, you will need to submit an expression of interest (EOI) form by 4 July 2003. We will then invite you to submit a full proposal (closing date 12 September), which will be subject to peer review. The Boards Postgraduate Committee will meet in mid-October to select the areas for ring-fencing and the outcomes will be announced in November 2003. The AHRB will then offer up to six ring-fenced doctoral awards per year for each subject area, for three years. These awards will be available for the 2004 competition and more details will be available in the Guide to Applicants for Postgraduate Awards in the Arts and Humanities, which is issued in December 2003. | |||||||||||||||||||||
