Hydrogen is the fuel of the future says Johnson Matthey's CEO (page 4)
Christopher Clark, chief executive of Johnson Matthey, warned that the world needs to change from carbon to hydrogen as its major energy source in the next decades, as the effects of global warming become more apparent.

Regenerating human fingers (page 6)
Japanese researchers have successfully manipulated the size and location of embryonic chicken toes. The discovery, they say, will lead to the regeneration of human fingers lost through accident or disease.

Jab on a chip may end injections (page 7)
An annual trip to the doctor may soon replace the daily injections that some people have to endure. A US company has developed a microchip system that stores up to a year's worth of medication and releases it into the blood stream as and when required, putting an end to regular injections or complex drug-taking regimes.

Schrödinger's wrong equation (pages 12-18)
Schrödinger's equation is represented in all physical chemistry textbooks as the foundation of quantum mechanics: the theory that explains the stability of atoms and why they emit energy in bursts. Unfortunately, according to Geoffrey Bond and Eric Short, his equation is wrong.
