Web-wise Society launches new European chemistry networkFebruary 22, 2000The Network will provide links to many other useful sites as well as featuring: Major European chemical societies and organisations, including the homepage for the Federation of European Chemical Societies (FECS) Chemical initiatives and projects from the European Union Industrial and research developments across Europe Conferences, events, awards and specialist subject groups in areas such as Food Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Education Details of the European Chemist (EurChem) designation Careers advice and resources for younger chemists throughout Europe Future plans include on-line discussion groups, conference registration and facilities that let visitors buy books, journals and other services from the chemical societies. Recent merger and acquisition activity in the chemical industry has come at a time when academic institutions and universities are looking for cross-border funding and collaboration on a deeper level. It is hoped that the European Network for Chemistry will provide the resources and contacts needed to help chemists succeed in this challenging new environment. The European Network for Chemistry is hosted by chemsoc, the on-line home of the chemical societies and one of the biggest chemistry sites on the web - receiving over 5,000 individual visitors every day.
