SHOP ALERT REVOLUTION
May 11, 1999Shop Alert, a revolutionary communication and security management system, is now increasingly in demand by UK shopping centre owners and managers, who have been quick to recognise that safer centres ultimately encourage more shoppers and make their complexes far more appealing to high profile multi-nationals.
In turn, retailers have noted that Shop Alert can enhance their bottom line by facilitating a much speedier response to crisis situations such as bomb warnings that can more often than not result in complete centre closures and significant loss of trade. The company broke new ground recently by clinching its first two contracts north of the border in Scotland - at the St EnochÃ"¢s and Braehead centres in Glasgow. After a six-year software development programme, Shop Alert was first introduced in 1994, with southern and northern operating divisions in Windsor and Keighley, West Yorkshire. The company has close associations with Castle Care Tech Ltd, of Windsor, one of the UKÃ"¢s leading independent manufacturers of security control equipment.
Shop Alert offers two-way communication in a matter of seconds between retail outlets and shopping centre control rooms. Director Frank Gee comments: Ã'The system allows centres to monitor virtually any area or installation and facilitate an immediate response in case of problems and emergencies.Ã"
Shop Alert has been awarded two major industry accolades - the International Fire and Security Exhibition & Conference Prism of Excellence Award and the British Security Insurance Association European Security Innovation Gold Award.
