Dr Julia King, chief executive of the Institute, welcomed Mr Boswood's appointment, "Science, technology and medicine (STM) publishing is a challenging and rapidly changing area. Institute of Physics Publishing is highly successful - we have doubled the number of journal pages we publish over the last six years - Mike Boswood will help us to build on this success with his extensive knowledge and experience of professional and STM publishing." Almost all of IOP Publishing's journals, magazines and electronic services are sold overseas, and the company has won the Queen's award for export three times. Commenting on his new responsibilities, Mr Boswood said, "I am delighted to be able to take on this role in addition to my full-time job with Thomson. IOP Publishing has long had an enviable reputation in STM publishing for quality and innovation. I look forward to helping it continue to develop effective and appropriate strategies for the future, especially with regard to electronic delivery." | |||||||||||||||||||||
