Help for Bioscientists to Access EU Research Funding

Bioscientists can now take advantage of new simple and easy 'on-line' access to help and information about the research and development funding available through the EU's Framework Programme.

New pages launched on the FP6UK website provide useful information for those bioscientists in both industry and academia who want to learn more about the opportunities available for research in Life Sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for Health across Europe.

http://fp6uk.ost.gov.uk puts the needs of UK organisations first by offering, for the first time, a single entry one-stop, on line information service for all 22 thematic areas covered by the EU's research and technological development funding for collaborative research and innovation.

To compliment the information available through the website, a new partnership has been set up between the Department of Trade and Industry and Medical Research Council to act as the UK National Contact Point for enquiries from bioscientists who are either interested in learning more or intending to submit applications for funding under Thematic Priority One (TP1) - Life Sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for Health. The TP1 National Contact Point is able to offer assistance and advice by disseminating information about Thematic Area One, screening and advising on proposals before they are submitted and help with the search for partners across the EU community.

Bioscientists wishing to keep up to date with information about the TP1 area should register their details on the FP6UK database by logging on to http://fp6uk.ost.gov or call the FP6UK helpline on 0870 600 6080. They can then chose whether they wish to receive email updates on developments in TP1 - and in what format.
