Sometimes, bigger is better. This is one of our best values in big reflectors It's a a standard Newtonian design 6" reflector telescope and the larger design means sharper images and more clarity with less maintenance. For you that means an excellent mix of deep-space viewing with the awesome views you want of the Moon and Planets. Compatible with advanced eyepieces and a motorized drive, this is a great starter scope for someone who really wants to take the plunge and begin a lifetime of learning and exploration. This telescope differs from our "short tube" 6 inch reflector in that it sports a more standard optical design and a natural 750mm focal length. This means the telescope is larger -- really it's longer -- but it is also faster. With a focal ratio of f/5.0, it offers superior light gathering power to the considerably slower short tube design. This makes the scope better suited for a wide range of astronomical observing. You're more likely to get sharp views of deeper space objects like nebulae, galaxies and star clusters. Plus planets and the moon still look great. Expect to see the Rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter and details of Mars when observing in dark skies.

Short Tube 6 Inch Newtonian Reflector Telescope. This is large aperture reflector at the bargain price that makes your introduction to serious high-power viewing affordable. This 6 inch reflector scope boasts a "short tube" design, with a built-in corrector that yields an 1400mm focal length with just a 19 inch primary tube. As a result, this scope packs a serious high-power punch, with magnification up to 400x making it ideal for lunar and planetary observation. You can see outstanding detail when viewing the moon you'll spot the Rings of Saturn and the Moons of Jupiter. Included is an adjustable full-sized aluminum tripod with a built-in accessory tray. This scope has an Equatorial Mount, so it can be polar aligned to track the movements of stars parade across the night sky. Use the declination circle, hour circle and latitude scale to quickly locate any celestial body. Thanks to precision worm gears and a substantial counter weight, the telescope can be balanced so that the slightest finger touch turn of the flexi cables will move the telescope with a smooth, steady motion. An optional right-ascension motor drive is available. Two medium power 1.25" diameter Plossl eyepieces (25mm & 10mm) and a Barlow 2x lens are included. Additional 1.25" eyepieces are available. Also included is a dust-free cleaning cloth, a map of the surface of the moon and a moon filter designed for reducing moon glare, and a poster of the solar system. The primary mirror is collimated (aligned) at the factory, but the scope does not include collimation aides, tools or instructions. All reflector telescopes show an inverted image, so purchase an optional erector eyepiece for daytime terrestrial viewing. Because the included paper instructions offer limited guidance, we provide buyers with an online full-color photograph, step-by-step assembly guide so you'll be up and running without having to struggle with a complex assembly diagram.

Here is an ideal first reflector telescope for the novice astronomer or young child (6 or 7 with adult supervision, otherwise 8 & up). With a large 76mm (3 inch) primary mirror, this reflector telescope is ideal for backyard astronomy and is a great introductory telescope for learning all about astronomy. With this three inch telescope, you can see tremendous detail when viewing the moon. With planets you can see the Rings of Saturn and the Moons of Jupiter. In dark skies you can see distant nebulae and galaxies as well. This telescope comes with 3 eyepieces with storage containers, and a Barlow 2x lens. That gives you six different magnification options. With the Barlow, you can achieve up to 350x magnification of distant objects. Plus, this telescope is compatible with two sizes of eyepieces -- the .965" diameter eyepieces that are included and the larger 1.25" eyepieces (so you can upgrade your view when you're ready!) Your telescope also comes with a dust-free cleaning cloth, a great map of the surface of the moon and a moon filter designed for reducing moon glare and making surface details more clear, and a poster of the solar system. The aluminum tripod is fully adjustable and allows even taller people to observe the stars without having to crouch down in an uncomfortable position. A handy accessory tray on the tripod makes it easy to keep track of extra eyepieces. With the altazimuth mounting, the telescope is designed for beginners and children. There is nothing to it. This is a true "point-and-shoot" telescope. The mount makes it simple to aim and move the telescope, you don't need to learn about complex Polar Alignment or stellar coordinates -- just aim the telescope at what you want to see and have a look.

Designed for use with Twinstar brand Reflector Telescopes, this erecting eyepiece flips the image you see right-side-up. As you may know, Reflector Telescope use mirrors to collect light which means they usually project an "upside-down" image. When you are looking into space, this is insignificant because there is no upside-down in Space. However, if you want to use you telescope during the day to look at things here on Earth, you will probably want the image flipped back the right way. This eyepiece is compatible with any telescope or optical device that uses a standard 1.25 inch diameter eyepiece. Your image is inverted and magnified 1.5 times.
