Minority students can become 'hyperpersistent' when they achieve better than middling grades
Scientists report that undergraduate students from underrepresented groups who score below a C- in general chemistry are less likely to persist in STEM classes than their classmates with similar grades, but they are much more likely than their peers to persist if they earn a C+ or better.

A new study by Jean-Marc Luck from Paris and Anita Mehta from Oxford published in EPJ B, uses mathematical modelling to suggest two mechanisms through which majority and minority languages come to coexist in the same area.
Study finds disparity in critical care deaths between non-minority and minority hospitals
While deaths steadily declined over a decade in intensive care units at hospitals with few minority patients, in ICUs with large numbers of minority patients, there was less improvement, according to new research published online in the American Thoracic Society's American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Ethnic minority women face more barriers to seeing their GP

Minority students still underrepresented in medical schools
While numbers of black and Hispanic physicians have increased, Penn study shows the physician workforce does not represent the shifting demographics of the US population.

Policies valuing cultural diversity improve minority students' sense of belonging
Psychology researchers exploring the belonging and achievement of middle school students found valuing cultural diversity reduces achievement gaps over the course of a year, while policies that favor colorblindness and assimilation led to wider achievement gaps.
BU program successful in preparing minority students for dental school
