A new study published in PLOS Medicine found a spatial relationship between COVID-19 mortality and population-level health and socioeconomic indicators. The researchers identified 9 key indicators, including chronic kidney disease and nursing home prevalence, which had the largest individual effect on COVID-19 mortality rates.
