Can an equal world reduce problematic social media use? Evidence from the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study in 43 countries

A new study published in Information, Communication and Society journal found a strong link between economic inequality and problematic social media use among adolescents. The research, involving over 179,000 schoolchildren from 40 countries, suggests that new strategies are needed to reduce the impact of deprivation on social media use.
