The prevalence of chronic hypertension in pregnancy in the US more than doubled from 1.8% to 3.7% between 2007 and 2021, despite only 60% of those with the condition being treated with antihypertensive medications. This increase is linked to rising maternal age, obesity rates, and other factors.
