A study published by The BMJ found that one dose of modified vaccinia Ankara-Bavarian Nordic (MVA-BN) smallpox vaccine is moderately effective in preventing mpox infection. The vaccine showed an estimated 58% vaccine effectiveness against mpox, suggesting it should be made available to communities at risk.
