Researchers found that vitamin D and/or omega-3 fatty acid supplements significantly lowered the rate of autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, and psoriasis. The largest benefit was seen after two years of supplementation with daily doses of vitamin D (2000 IU) and marine omega-3 fatty acids (1000 mg).
