A recent study published in the Hypertension journal found that elevated blood pressure before becoming pregnant and early in pregnancy may increase the risk of pregnancy loss. The study, which examined 1,228 healthy women, found a significant association between preconception and early-pregnancy blood pressure and pregnancy loss.
