A large-scale study published in JAMA Cardiology found that inflammatory heart disease is rare among professional athletes with mild or asymptomatic COVID-19 infection. Only five out of 789 athletes developed heart inflammation, indicating a very low incidence of heart risk after mild COVID-19.
