The NIH-funded RECOVER Initiative study reveals a significant association between SARS-CoV-2 infection and an increased incidence of myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), with 4.5% post-COVID participants meeting ME/CFS diagnostic criteria, compared to 0.6% non-infected participants.
