A survey of 348 US ophthalmologists found that EHR adoption has more than doubled since 2011 to 72 percent. Despite this growth, most ophthalmologists reported a decrease in productivity as a result of EHR use. This study emphasizes the need for improving the efficiency and usability of EHR systems to mitigate negative perceptions.
