A new diagnostic model called Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) aims to correct limitations of traditional models like DSM-5 by using a dimensional and hierarchical approach. This approach can lead to more meaningful decisions and advance research efforts into the causes and treatments of mental disorders.
