A study by researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center found that despite guidelines supporting outpatient management, nearly two-thirds of low-risk PE patients remain hospitalized. The findings suggest that many patients with acute PE are being needlessly admitted to the hospital for inpatient management.
