A study finds no correlation between birth order and risk-taking in adulthood based on analysis of birth ranks of 187 explorers and revolutionaries, risk preferences of 1,507 participants in the Basel-Berlin Risk Study, and personal risk assessment data from the German Socio-Economic Panel of approximately 11,000 households; the findings suggest that birth order and family dynamics do not influence risk-taking in adulthood, according to the authors.
