Contrary to previous studies, researchers failed to find evidence supporting the idea of increased genetic influence on cognitive abilities in children from socioeconomically advantaged backgrounds, based on an analysis of birth and school administrative records from nearly 300,000 siblings and twins born in Florida between 1994 and 2002, suggesting that environmental moderation of genetic influence on cognitive ability might be more complex than previously thought.
