Will global change alter the frequency and severity of wildfires in mediterranean ecosystems? Scientists will address this question at a meeting sponsored by GCTE/LUCC in Barcelona, Spain, on March 14-18, 1998.

The Science

Practical information
Fire regime in the mediterranean basin will be discussed on the third day of the conference (March 16) at 9:00 in session 6 "Land Cover Dynamics ", chaired by Thelma Krug and in the poster session following immediately; and on Day 4 (March 17) at 14:30 in session 7 "The Mediterranean Region" and in the poster session following immediately.
