Researchers report an approach to powering implantable electronic devices via a light-emitting patch worn on the surface of the skin that can transfer photons to a photovoltaic device integrated with a medical implant without the need for wires; additionally, the authors demonstrated the efficacy of the light-emitting patch in mice.
