The Partnership is made possible by a two and half year grant funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to the Yale AIDS Program and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA). The goal is to develop a partnership between the Yale School of Medicine and the New Haven community with health professionals in St. Petersburg, Russia to provide training in HIV/AIDS care, treatment and support. The program involves exchanges of Americans and Russians who will develop a community-wide HIV/AIDS care program to be implemented in the city of St. Petersburg.

Krystn Wagner, assistant professor of internal medicine/AIDS and Robert Heimer, associate professor in the Departments of Epidemiology and Public Health and pharmacology, will oversee the partnership.
