Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 Binoculars deliver bright, sharp views for wildlife surveys, eclipse chases, and quick star-field scans at dark sites.

In their study of a random sample of villagers in the southern part of Yunnan province, China, Peter Steinmann (Swiss Tropical Institute, Basel, Switzerland) and colleagues in China and Switzerland found that 11.7% of the sampled population was infected with S. stercoralis. This neglected soil-transmitted worm infects humans through the skin; in healthy people the illness is usually mild, but in people with weakened immune systems the disease can be fatal.
