"The William Penn Foundation is well known for its support of cultural institutions in the Philadelphia region," said Arnold Thackray, president of CHF. "We count their support as a gratifying vote of confidence in our endeavor to preserve, promote, and make known the history and heritage of the chemical and molecular sciences, which have played an enormous role in shaping the heritage of the Philadelphia region."

Through the strategic planning this grant makes possible, CHF hopes to increase operating revenue, more than double the number of visitors to its facility, increase use of its traveling exhibits, and increase both on-site and on-line use of its library and archives.
