Benjamin Cash, Research Scientist, Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA) Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences, College of Science, received funding for the study: “Know, Explore, Improve: Hypothesis-driven development of the UFS.”
He aims to improve understanding of seasonal predictability and to develop improved predictions of subseasonal to seasonal (S2S) precipitation extremes.
Cash received $1,048,807 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for this research. Funding began in Aug. 2025 and will end in late July 2028.
