Using data from Pew's National Survey of Latinos, which, between 2007 and 2018 polled more than 8,500 individuals in the United States aged 18 or older of Latino descent about their fears of being deported or a close friend or family member being deported, a study found that Latino noncitizens, including documented and undocumented immigrants, expressed high fear of deportation; although Latino US citizens reported less deportation fear than Latino noncitizens, they have experienced increased fear since the 2016 US presidential election, according to the study.
