BATON ROUGE, La. – Ochsner Baton Rouge is making it easier for women to prioritize their health during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, Ochsner is adding expanded mammography appointments and will host its annual Massages & Mammos event, helping women prioritize their breast health.
Ochsner will host its sixth annual Massages & Mammos event from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove, 10210 The Grove Blvd., near the Mall of Louisiana.
Ochsner will offer extended Saturday mammography hours on the following dates:

According to the American Cancer Society, nearly 322,000 women in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026, and the average woman has about a 13%, or 1-in-8, chance of developing breast cancer during her lifetime.
Massages & Mammos is designed to make taking care of breast health a little easier and more comfortable. Women can schedule their annual mammogram while enjoying complimentary chair massages, light refreshments and opportunities to speak directly with Ochsner breast health experts.
The event is open to everyone, and attendees do not need to receive a mammogram to participate. Friends and family members are welcome to attend in support of a loved one or learn more about breast health. Attendees can learn more about breast cancer screening options, receive complimentary Ochsner swag while supplies last and have opportunities to win prizes.
Ochsner recommends women begin scheduling annual mammograms at age 40. Women should also be familiar with how their breasts normally look and feel and report changes to their healthcare provider. Changes can include swelling, skin irritation or dimpling, breast or nipple pain, or thickening of the skin. Because many breast cancers do not cause noticeable symptoms, routine mammograms can play an important role in detecting cancer earlier.
