About the Study: Is a focused educational quality improvement program associated with improved evidence-based practices and prevention of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections among hospitalized patients? In this quality improvement study that included 106 intensive care units (ICUs) and 87 non-ICUs from 94 hospitals, the intervention period was associated with a decrease in hospital-onset MRSA bacteremia laboratory-identified events of 2.3 events per 10 000 patient-days or 65%, a significant difference. These findings suggest that publicly available MRSA prevention program toolkit materials may help ICUs and non-ICUs reduce MRSA infections among hospitalized patients.
